In this subtle "Bridget Jones" variation, a reclusive bookseller ventures into a literary workshop and turns her life upside down.
France 2024, Director: Laura Piani, Length: 98 minutes
DA: Camille Rutherford, Pablo Pauly, Charly Anson and others.
Agathe, who is no longer quite young, describes herself as "Anne Elliot", the elderly heroine in Austen's last novel who "deliberately passes by her existence". For the intellectual bookseller, the literature of the past is a refuge from the impositions of the present. Her colleague and buddy Félix forces her to leave her shell by submitting the first chapters of her novel manuscript to a writing competition and she is actually invited to England.
