Christmas Oratorio
Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio at the Neustrelitz City Church
On Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., the second part of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio will be performed at the Neustrelitz City Church. With Cantatas 4 through 6, the Neustrelitz Singakademie will continue its performance of this great Christmas work.
Together with members of the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic and soloists Felizia Frenzel (soprano), Sina Dollinger (alto), Andrès Felipe Orozco (tenor), and Ryszard Kalus (bass), the ensemble will perform under the direction of Cantor Lukas Storch.
The three cantatas take listeners on a musical journey from the naming of Jesus, through the journey of the Magi, to the adoration of the Child and the festive conclusion of the Christmas Oratorio.
Tickets are available in advance at the “Frau Rilke” bookstore, the Theater Service, and the Neustrelitz Tourist Information Office, as well as at Augenoptik Pollex in Kiefernheide. Advance tickets cost 20 euros; reduced-price tickets are 15 euros. At the box office, admission is 25 euros, or 20 euros with a discount.
Doors open and the box office opens at 3:30 p.m. The Stadtkirche is not heated, but the pews are equipped with built-in heating.
