For centuries, the 10th Sunday after Trinity Sunday (9 August) has commemorated the destruction of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem in the summer of 70 AD by the Romans and the eventful history of the Jewish people. After the Holocaust, this day has taken on a new meaning and raises questions about our relationship to our own history, to the Jewish people and to the coexistence of Jews and Christians.
