Making musical instruments, workshops, music for children
A day full of creativity, music, and shared experiences
What happens when crafts meet music? That’s exactly what children and their families can experience at the Kids’ Music, Crafts, and Play Day!
On a Saturday, the Blechwerk stage in Stralsund transforms into a creative hands-on workshop. Together with their parents, children build their own musical instruments under expert guidance—from small drums and cajons to other exciting sound-making instruments. They’ll be sawing, screwing, designing, and, of course, testing them out.
But the day is far from over: In the afternoon, the homemade instruments come to life in small workshops. Through play, the children discover rhythms, sounds, and the joy of making music together. Without any prior knowledge, they experience how individual notes come together to create music.
The highlight of the day is a live concert by a professional children’s band, (Ich & Herr Meyer), which presents rousing music for singing along, dancing, and joining in. This makes the day an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Refreshments and light snacks will be available throughout the event. There will also be an instrument flea market where you can browse, try out instruments, and make new discoveries.
All children and their families are welcome to participate—regardless of whether they have prior musical experience or not. The focus is on curiosity, creativity, and, above all, the joy of discovering things together.
Admission is free! Donations and small contributions toward materials are welcome.
