Klaus the cobbler has nothing to do, so he tells the story of a clever cat: "Once upon a time there was a poor miller's boy who got into trouble through no fault of his own. As he had always treated his cat well, the animal decided to help his master. Since clothes make the man, the cat had a pair of boots made and went out into the world dressed like this. He went straight to the king and promised him all sorts of things, such as catching partridges. The king was delighted and the princess was curious. What is this cheeky cat up to?
