Unfortunately, Tobi no longer knows the answer. So he embarks on an elementary journey around the world in Checker style, which takes him to Madagascar, Spitsbergen and Mexico. On three continents, he discovers what connects these different soils and finally finds the answer he has been looking for for so long. But that is not to be revealed here.
Scientists, good friends and local people, such as Hanitra, a Madagascan biologist, geologist Malte, student Samara, archaeologist Nicolaus and a grumpy employee of a recycling center, help him answer the "Checker question".
That's a lot of locations and characters for you to get to know. But don't worry, you'll never lose the thread of the story. The individual adventures are introduced and linked with cool references to old computer games such as Indiana Jones or Minecraft. The old video tape, on which the 30-year-old recording of Tobi can be seen, serves as a leitmotif. It is shown again and again when a new country is visited. So you slowly get used to the locations and it reminds not only Tobi, but also all adults, how easily we forget the dreams of our childhood.
The third part of the "Checker Tobi" films uses familiar ingredients from the popular Kika knowledge program and the previous films. A new challenge, an exciting journey around the world and getting to know lots of exciting people. The mixture of adventure and documentary film is great fun, makes you think about the protection of nature and teaches you lots of new things in an exciting way.
