Charly Hübner, one of the most versatile and popular German actors, has dedicated a special book to Uwe Johnson, one of the great German authors. Uwe Johnson has been increasingly forgotten as an author for both Germany, and wrongly so in Charly Hübner's opinion. Reading this author, a precise observer of his time who put the language and way of thinking of the people around him on paper like no other, is more relevant today than ever. 40 years after Johnson's death and 90 years after his birth, Charly Hübner has read Johnson's magnum opus as an audio book. Once again, he immersed himself completely in it and was amazed at how topical it still is - both in literary and political terms.
