Gerhard A. Schiewe was born not far from Stuttgart and learned to play the accordion at an early age. He went on to study music at the Hohner Conservatory in Trossingen. Since 2000 he has lived in Berlin as a freelance musician, arranger and composer and has worked with various formations and ensembles, such as the Berlin State Opera, the Berliner Ensemble, tango projects with Suzanna and international artists.
Julian Bender is a freelance choreographer and musical performer. He completed his studies in musical theater in Munich in 2017 and has been working as a dancer, singer, actor and choreographer ever since. Engagements have taken him to the Nuremberg State Opera, the Hanover State Opera, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Residenztheater Munich and the Theater am Kurfürstendamm, among others. As an independent musical-scenic program, the Jacques Brel evening sets a clear artistic accent in the work of both artists.
