A rarely shown painting by Georg Baselitz can be seen for 72 hours at Whitsun in the Seemannskirche Prerow.
As a teenager, he spent his vacations with his parents at the campsite in Prerow. Today he is ranked third in the world's most important living painters: Georg Baselitz. At Whitsun, the Friends of the Seemannskirche will be presenting his 3 x 4 m painting "My father sees an angel" in the church for 72 hours non-stop around the clock from May 22nd 3 pm to May 25th 3 pm. The artwork has only been shown twice in the world so far and takes up a scene from those campsite visits. Upside down, of course, as is customary with Georg Baselitz. This event also marks the opening of the celebrations to mark 300 years of the Seemannskirche.
