Songs by Anton Günther; Schmiedt Bros. feat. Friederike Nölting & Udo Franke
Anton Günther (1876 - 1937) was a dialect poet, singer and composer from the Ore Mountains. He wrote around 140 songs and invented the song postcard . Both the brothers Henning and Wolfgang Schmiedt and Udo Franke are Erzgebirge exiles. Originally born and raised there, they now live far further north in Germany and, together with actress Friederike Nölting, have lovinglyreworked Anton Günther's songs about home, love, childhood and the art of living peacefully. In the Ateliertheater, they bring Günther's melodies to the stage with a contemporary sound.
