Karussell’s 50th Anniversary with a film on the band’s history


The band Karussell was founded in Leipzig in 1976 by Wolf Rüdiger Raschke and performed very successfully until 1989 with various lineups.With the fall of the Berlin Wall, this era came to an end for the time being in 1989.

In 2007, the band founder’s son, Joe Raschke, succeeded in reviving Karussell. This was followed by their first concerts and an intensive creative process focused on new songs and lyrics. Over the course of its long history, Karussell has toured Eastern and Western Europe, Scandinavia, South America, France, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Uruguay, Cuba, and Belgium.

Today, with their program “Karussell Hits from 10 Albums,” the band sensitively takes its audience on a journey through time—from the past to the present—while maintaining its high standards for lyrics and music and impressing with a contemporary stage sound and an excellent light show.

Their latest album, “Unter den Sternen,” was produced at the legendary Hansa Tonstudios in Berlin.
