Karussell—50 Years of German Rock Music—The Anniversary Tour
| Six musicians – three generations – one band
Friday, July 30, 2027
at 8:00 p.m.
VENUE: Kulturkirche St. Jakobi | Nave
The band Karussell was founded in Leipzig in 1976 by Wolf Rüdiger Raschke and performed very successfully in various lineups until 1989. In 1990, this era came to an end for the time being.
In 2007, the band founder’s son, Joe Raschke, provided the decisive impetus for a comeback. This was followed by their first concerts and a period of intensive creative work.
To date, the band has released six successful albums and, with high standards for lyrics and music, picks up where it all left off—remaining authentic and instantly recognizable. Since their relaunch, they have released four new albums. Most recently, the album “Unter den Sternen” was released in April 2024.
Throughout its long history, Karussell has toured Eastern and Western Europe, including Scandinavia, South America, France, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Uruguay, Cuba, and Belgium.
Today, the band consists of three generations and, in this anniversary year, takes the audience on a deeply moving journey through its 50-year history with a first-class sound and an excellent light show.
