Mattress salesman Erwin Schlowanz and his wife Helga are permanent campers with heart and soul at the idyllic "Küstenperle" campsite. Erwin has finally got hold of the pitch next to his boss Oswald Schlummermann and is hoping for a better chance of achieving his big dream: managing the new "Schlummerland" branch in Bettenhusen!
Everything is perfectly prepared for the reception of the big mattress king, but instead the crazy Oswald junior and his girlfriend Chrissi move into the senior's caravan. When Erwin's fiercest rival, sales genius Titus Butenland, turns up unexpectedly and they both find out that Junior is to be the new boss of the Bettenhusen branch, all their plans are thwarted. But globetrotter Junior has no desire to follow in the footsteps of the mattress king. He suggests that Erwin and Titus compete against each other in a sales show at the campsite to convince the old slumber man of their talents.
