Free admission for children and hands-on activities for everyone
What do red deer, aspen, the hedgehog-bearded plant, partridge, and catfish have in common? They are some of this year’s “Animals and Plants of the Year,” and they represent many species found in our local habitats. You can discover some of them at the Müritzeum during State Zoo Day!
Let’s explore the amazing biodiversity of our region’s flora and fauna together. Exciting insights, colorful craft activities, and surprising facts about the Animals and Plants of the Year in a quiz await you! Curious? Then come to the Müritzeum and immerse yourself in a diverse and colorful world!
And the best part of this special day is that children up to age 16 get free admission to the Nature Discovery Center! State Zoo Day is supported by the state government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and aims once again to highlight the importance of zoos and wildlife parks as educational institutions for nature and species conservation.
The hands-on activities are also free for “adult” paying visitors when they visit the Müritzeum—and for everyone, it’s a wonderful opportunity to learn even more about local nature on State Zoo Day!
