The Norwegian artist couple Gry-Hege Johansen and Hans Hamid Rasmussen spent time at the Edvard Munch House in Warnemünde in May 2025 as part of a residency fellowship. During this time, they developed the concept for an exhibition of new works, which the Edvard Munch House is now presenting.
Gry Hege Johansen, an artist from Bodø, explores themes such as coastal culture, the sea, and the passage of time in her work. Her planned works include drawings influenced by memories, tangible objects, and natural forms.
Hans Hamid Rasmussen, born in Algeria and based in Norway, is developing a series of works that emerged directly from his residency. Inspired by Munch’s photographic experiments with double exposures, he combines black-and-white photographs of ocean waves with textile fragments, collage techniques, and spatial interventions.
