The workshop will take place at the Kulturhafen as part of the AUS DER REIHE TANZEN festival
Burlesque Workshop with Kitty Green
for FLINTA and queer people ages 16 and up
Burlesque—but what exactly is it? This diverse art form combines dance, acting, and striptease. If you’re interested in learning what shimmies, a bump ’n’ grind, and tassels are, you’ve come to the right place. But above all, it’s about stage presence, expression, and having lots of fun on stage. Together, we’ll move in both classical and wild styles, get to know props like gloves, corsets, garters, pasties, and feather boas, and maybe even work on a little choreography.
Kitty Green, aka Petra Cavet, is a theater and dance educator who discovered burlesque during her training as a dance teacher. She was looking for a body-inclusive dance style and found it in burlesque—but she discovered so much more: a unique community, self-love, the joy of movement, and acceptance of her own body. Kitty has already performed twice at the Berlin Burlesque Festival with the Emerald Esmeraldas, supports various festivals as a stage kitten, and is currently working on her second solo act.
The workshop is part of the AUS DER REIHE TANZEN Festival.
