Brass Band MV invites you to the Dorf Mecklenburg Stadium for brass, beats, and blockbusters
Dorf Mecklenburg, July 4, 2026, 3:30 p.m. – The Brass Band MV is taking part in Dorf Mecklenburg’s 1,031st anniversary celebration. With its new concert program, “Brass Beats and Blockbusters,” the Brass Band MV is performing for the first time in the cradle of the state and will give a concert on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at the Dorf Mecklenburg Stadium.
Under the musical direction of Timo Hänf, the young ensemble will present a program that—inspired by the atmosphere of Britain’s Whit Friday—aims to create a festive, fair-like atmosphere through a blend of musical performance and entertainment.
Young musicians will also take center stage, as the brass class from the local school will join the band in performing several pieces together.
Look forward to classic British brass music, including “Share My Yoke” featuring soloist Christian Berg from the Neubrandenburg Army Music Corps.
Let yourself be swept away by beats like “Thriftshop” by U.S. rapper Macklemore, performed together with the wind ensemble from KGS Dorf Mecklenburg.
Marvel at powerful, cinematic blockbusters like a medley from the 1990s film score of *Robin Hood* starring Kevin Costner.
The concert also marks the conclusion of the 14th workshop and is the third workshop in the Brass Band MV’s event year.
“Although Saturday’s concert shortens the band’s preparation time, the pieces are already ‘nailed down’ very well, and on Sunday we can focus on rehearsing one of the ‘test pieces’ typical of the scene. The pieces for national competitions require a special approach and great attention to detail. It’s going to be a great weekend!” says Timo Hänf, artistic director and conductor of the Brass Band MV.
“Preparations didn’t go perfectly, as the planned concert venue had to be canceled due to water damage. Nevertheless, the local organizers found a good solution, and we’re looking forward to livening up the village festival this afternoon,” says association board member Marcus Schümann.
“The children have been practicing hard and are already excited to play alongside such an experienced band. That’s a lasting source of motivation!” says Malte Praetorius, teacher and director of the wind instrument class at KGS Dorf Mecklenburg.
The Brass Band MV looks forward to welcoming many guests fromto the “Brass, Beats, and Blockbusters” concert.
Admission is free, but donations are warmly welcomed.
