Where it all begins and history comes alive: A cycle tour from the cradle to Neustrelitz
From the cradle to the royal seat: this 11-kilometre cycle tour combines history, nature and exercise in a special way. The starting point is the Dieffenbacher veterinary practice in Strelitz-Alt. In around 90 minutes, the route takes you to the heart of the residential town of Neustrelitz, which developed from a small settlement into the important residence of the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in the 18th century.
The baroque town complex with its unique star-shaped layout still bears witness to this glorious era. Important personalities such as Dorothea Sophie of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön, Sophie Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Queen Luise of Prussia left their mark on the history of the region far beyond Mecklenburg.
The tour invites you to discover historical traces, enjoy the beauty of the surroundings and actively experience the special connection between the origin and the royal seat.
