The author
Lena Johannson is a trained bookseller; she attended acting school and worked in tourism in Tunisia, Switzerland, and Sri Lanka.
She has been writing all along…. Back in Germany, she decided to make writing her career and initially took a job at an editorial office.
Reportage was followed by nonfiction books and, finally, historical novels. Her repertoire also includes crime novels and biographical novels.
With *Die Villa an der Elbchaussee*, she made it onto the *Spiegel* bestseller list for the first time, where she felt right at home. She has since appeared on the list several times.
