When the days get brighter and squares and parks are transformed into summer concert stages, a special task begins for the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Police Orchestra: "Mission: Summer - Musicians on a Mission". Inspired by the legendary title song from "Mission: Impossible", the orchestra takes its audience on a musical mission full of energy, speed and surprising twists and turns.
Instead of agents, however, trumpets, saxophones and drums are in action here. The open-air program combines pop, jazz and funk to create a sonorous mission that is guaranteed to succeed.
Swinging classics such as "Blue Skies", the Motown feeling of "Ain't no mountain high enough" and energetic medleys with the greatest hits from Earth, Wind & Fire, Roger Cicero and "Saturday Night Fever" bring summery lightness and a real disco atmosphere to the stage. With "Ma Nah Ma Nah", the tongue-in-cheek fun is not to be missed. Several titles are accompanied by vocal soloists and the orchestra's own singer, Katrin Lièvre, with solo instruments providing special accents.
