When Walter Kempowski was led into the courtyard of the remand prison on Demmlerplatz for the first time in spring 1948, he already suspected the arbitrariness, injustice and violence that this place would bring him. In depressingly honest words, he then describes this chapter of his life in several texts, providing an unparalleled insight into everyday life in prison. As part of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Wandelkonzert with musicians from ensemble reflektor and Kempowski's texts, read by actress Katrin Heinrich, allows us to trace this important part of our history.
