The duo Strandfunk combines Anika Sieg's versatile voice with Leo Sieg's musical talent.
Even while studying musical theater in Hamburg, Anika Sieg (née Bollmann) sang the roles of Christiné from *The Phantom of the Opera* and Eliza from *My Fair Lady*, among others, at the Jena Philharmonic Ball and the Brussels Musical Gala.
Immediately after successfully completing her musical theater training, she was hired by Seelive. In twelve different shows on the AIDA Cara, she was able to showcase her vocal and acting talents daily and demonstrate her versatility. This led to numerous performances on a 5-star Hapag-Lloyd ship, the MS Hanseatic.
Engagements in New York followed. There, with her heart racing as high as the Empire State Building, she presented her first solo show: “A Little Bit of Broadway.” She sang with award-winning bands, including “Manhattan City Music,” “The Louis Armstrong Eternity Band,” and “Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks,” at Manhattan’s most famous venues, such as Birdland, Cipriani Ballroom, Friars Club, and the Central Park Boathouse.
At the age of nine, Leo Sieg was so fascinated by percussion instruments that he began taking professional drum lessons, which he continued for many years. At the same time, he taught himself to play the guitar and bass.
His first gigs as a studio musician led to collaborations with international brands in the music industry such as LUDWIG, SELA, and PORTER&DAVIES, for which Leo has served as an endorser for many years now.
As a drummer and percussionist, he tours internationally. He is also a co-founder of the music label “ASHtunes” and, since 2013, has served as managing director of “Tonstudio Rostock,” where he produces music for an international audience.
