Dance theater by female choreographers from the Baltic Sea region
With the “Perspectives” evening, the Volkstheater’s dance company literally opened up new perspectives in 2024: multiple choreographic languages, compelling stories, and diverse dance styles were woven together into a single program. The new dance production builds on this concept. For “Baltic Perspectives,” the ensemble is collaborating with young female choreographers from dance academies in Copenhagen and Helsinki. After all, the dance scene around the Baltic Sea is particularly vibrant. Together with a piece by Corinne Kälin, who has previously worked as a choreographer for Perspectives, the international company creates a Nordic kaleidoscope. One premiere—three new choreographic works—the highest level of virtuosity across a wide variety of dance styles—all in all: thrilling perspectives.
