It's Bluestime: In the tradition of the multi-award-winning Blue Wave Festival Binz, musicians from the international blues scene will be guests in Binz from 11 to 14 June. There will be plucking, drumming, swinging and singing in many places that will make New Orleans pale with envy.New this year is the beach session at Binz Kulturstrand.
New this year: the beach session on Binzer Kulturstrand.
Away from the main stage - away from the noise - away from everything that pushes. The beach session is a journey into the fascination of slowness. Reduced. Close. Night blue.
Bad Temper Joe - with his famous slide guitar, takes you
and lets sounds glide across the beach, gently, floating, almost whispered.
The moon joins in and the night sky opens up.
Not the big show. Just music that breathes and stays.
BADTEMPER JOE (DEU)
When it comes to blues in Germany, there's no getting around Bad Temper Joe. The grumpy blues bard from the East Westphalian province has developed into an absolutely exceptional phenomenon on the blues scene in recent years. This is evidenced not only by the large number of albums he has released in the meantime with songs that are as raw as they are haunting. Winning the German Blues Challenge and being nominated for various blues
awards and the German Record Critics' Award are also proof of this.
With his dedication to the old bluesmen from the Mississippi Delta, Bad Temper Joe easily transports the blues, which has often been declared dead, into the 21st century - and does so with everything that characterizes blues at the highest level: excellent songwriting, a pronounced awareness of tradition and an engaging performance.
