Musical Reading at the City Library
With the sense that she would never find a home in her own time, Ingeborg Bachmann describes the experience of women in a male-dominated world. Her poetry is sensual and intelligent—it moves and inspires—and offers comfort even in its most desperate moments. In this way, she has shaped German-language literature like no other. Short interludes by J.S. Bach open up new realms of resonance for her poetry. This joint event presented by the Evangelical Academy of the Nordkirche and the City Library features Elisabeth Richter-Kubbutat and Susanne Stock, offering the perfect blend. Together, they captivate the audience with their instruments—the voice and the accordion.
Tickets for this event commemorating the 100th birthday of Austrian author Ingeborg Bachmann on September 15 are now available for 7 euros at the City Library. Advance reservations can be made by calling 03841 251 4020 or emailing stadtbibliothek@wismar.de. Remaining tickets will be available at the box office for 10 euros.
