Echoes of the Past: The Horizon Between Us
Many people know Marion Petznick, a native of Graal-Müritz, for her regional crime novels. She is a member of the “Mörderischen Schwestern” and the “Mecklenburgischen Nordlichtern.” Writing was important to her from an early age, so she further developed her creative hobby through distance learning at the School of Writing in Hamburg. This time, however, she won’t be presenting a mystery novel. Her first romance novel has just come off the press, and we’re eager to hear Rosa’s story.
After her mother’s death, Rosa discovers a truth among yellowed letters and diary entries that upends everything she thought she knew about her family. The Berlin gallery owner, trapped in a loveless marriage, sets off on a Danube cruise—the trip her mother had always dreamed of. Between Passau and Budapest, Rosa encounters not only her mother’s moving love story—a love that was shattered by social constraints in the GDR—but also Lucas, a man who hears the nuances in her silence. Rosa senses that she must make a decision.
