An event organized by the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Star Park.
On Saturday, 28.3.26, the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature and Star Park invites you to the nationwide Astronomy Day at the Karower Meiler. With its theme "The moon with the golden handle, evening star Venus and giant planet Jupiter", the Astronomy Day is all about our cosmic neighbors. The so-called "Golden Handle" can only be seen relatively rarely on the moon - this evening, weather permitting, there will be an opportunity to see it. But the bright planets Venus and Jupiter will also be easy to observe.
Sabine Schöbel will read "Die Sternenbraut - Geschichten und Märchen aus dem Reich der Gestirne" (The Star Bride - Stories and Fairy Tales from the Realm of the Stars) for a magical start to the evening program. This will be followed by an introduction to the three astronomical themes by star guides Torsten Degen, Guido Strauß and Rainer Gühlstorf. The star guides will then be available all evening to look at the moon and planets with their telescopes. Hot drinks, a small snack and a campfire will also be provided. The event starts at 19:00. Admission is €7, children €3. The event will also take place in bad weather, in which case there will be more extensive lectures on astronomical topics.
