A conversation with Giacomo Orth about his current exhibition, “away from reality II”
In his drawings, artist Giacomo Orth explores those moments that break through automated perception—moments that manage to endure longer than the fleeting nature of the instant. Capturing these enduring images can be understood as the motivation behind his work. In this context, detached perception, observation, and seeing are just as integral to the work as the process of drawing itself. His sculptures expand the artistic exploration of reality, which is more than the sum of its parts.
