"My World of Imagination"
The works of Polish artist Elzbieta Zygmunt are on display in the historic setting of the Malchow Monastery Café through August 31.
The “life-giving golden mean” (Życiodajny złoty środek) is a central element in her work. The Significance of Gold and Colors:
- The Golden Mean: Elżbieta Zygmunt uses gold as a symbol of vitality, harmony, and the radiant center of existence. In her works, it often serves as an optimistic counterpoint to the melancholic shades of gray and black.
- Colorful Phases: Her vibrant color palette comes to the fore especially when she is processing positive emotions. In interviews about her exhibitions, she herself emphasizes that her paintings become rich in color and emotionally charged as soon as she “feels her soul in love” or brings pure joy of life to the canvas.
Her art thrives precisely on this exciting contrast: the interplay between muted, philosophical earth tones and expressive, colorful compositions with golden accents.
Under the direction of the Malchow Art Museum, a small exhibition was curated in the Klostercafé, which will remain on view through August 31, 2026.
The paintings can not only be admired over a cozy cup of coffee but are also available for purchase. Admission is free during the café’s opening hours.
