The annual MÜTHER WEEK focuses on the Binz-based architect Ulrich Müther (1934–2007). A variety of events are held to honor him and his work.
As part of MÜTHER WEEK, director Margarete Fuchs will be visiting Binz to present her documentary *“Für den Schwung sind Sie zuständig”*. The film, which runs about an hour, follows Ulrich Müther and three of his construction workers through the various creative and personal phases of their careers. The film spans the period from the spirit of optimism in the 1960s, through construction projects abroad, to the changes brought about by German reunification and their lives afterward. In addition to footage of impressive architecture, you can also expect a glimpse into the political and social history of the GDR. After the screening, there will be an opportunity to talk with Margarete Fuchs.
