Family tour and live music at the harbor on April 24, 2026 From April 24 to 26, 2026, the Mecklenburg Lake District is inviting cyclists for the first time - a new experience for locals, families, sports enthusiasts and guests.
Friday marks the start of the cycling season and offers the opportunity to discover the Lake District on guided tours. Participants can choose from a variety of tours in around 15 locations. Experienced guides accompany the groups, tell stories from the region and turn every stop into a little adventure. In addition to new encounters, the focus is on discovering things together.
Many places organize a programme for children around the tours, have the traffic police on site and carry out a bike check-up. In the evenings, cultural events such as readings, barbecues, concerts, open-air cinemas or music complete the day in some places - free of charge and for everyone who wants to cycle together.
Malchin is also taking part in the campaign with various activities. In the morning, for example, the traffic police will be setting up a course with second-grade children in the traffic garden and teaching them about cycling safety. The bike dealer Hassemer is organizing an "Open Day" from 10:00 a.m. with a bike check and supporting programme. From 3 p.m., Hassemer will start a guided and family-friendly bike tour (approx. 20 km) between Lake Malchin and Lake Kummerow with the destination Peenecafé on Kösters Eck in Malchin. There, from 5.30 p.m., we ring in the weekend in a relaxed atmosphere with culinary delicacies and pleasant, handmade live music right by the harbor. Simply beautiful!
