Exhibition Series at tisch – Café, Coworking, Event
In 2025, an exhibition series titled IM KLEINEN RAHMEN launched at tisch in Schwerin, a space that combines a café, coworking space, and event venue. Upon entering, café visitors are greeted by contemporary art displayed on a wall spanning over six meters. At a time when encountering and engaging with art seems essential and deserves a special place in our daily lives, tisch creates a space where art meets everyday life, where colors enhance the coffee experience, where interplay of forms inspires work, and where artistic intentions flow into conversations. Every visit becomes a personal enrichment.
The exhibition series IM KLEINEN RAHMEN was initiated by art historian and curator Annekathrin Siems and illustrator and art director Karen Obenauf.

XENIA FINK
ARTIST STATEMENT
Xenia Fink uses the medium of representation—the figurative—to explore recurring motifs and discover new interpretations. Her artistic practice is rooted in drawing and, in addition to works on paper and Tyvek, includes installations, textile works, and animations.
Her drawings consist almost exclusively of lines that can be distinguished individually. Up close, her distinctive style is evident: the lines swell and recede, wind around one another, and condense, thereby taking on a concrete form.
In her current works, she uses drapery, decorative ornamentation, and hair to highlight, on the one hand, how these motifs are gendered—that is, perceived as feminine—and, on the other hand, to illustrate how arbitrary this categorization is. These forms take on a life of their own and become more abstract; at times, it becomes unclear whether lines are curving inward or outward. The folds become bodies. She feels most at home in this space between representation, metaphor, and dissolution, and this is where she situates her work.
