Amber Night Hike for All Ages
Equipped with UV headlamps, we set out after dark to search for amber on the beach. Finding amber with UV light is a breeze, making it suitable for all ages. The evening tour begins shortly before sunset and lasts about 2 hours. The maximum group size is 12 people. We recommend wearing waterproof shoes, such as rubber boots. The rest of the equipment—such as the UV headlamp and a secure container for collecting the amber—is provided. The tours are designed for families with children; this isn’t about professional amber hunting but about the experience. If you’re hoping to find the Amber Room here, I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you. When we go on a tour, we’ll of course find something *; however, if conditions change, tours may be canceled on short notice.
*Since your time here is limited and not enough amber is always washed up on the beach, I can offer the following:
I can act as the “Amber Easter Bunny” and ensure there’s plenty of amber on the beach. My tours are, of course, all about searching for amber, but they’re also about the experience of walking on the beach at night, seeing the glowing eyes of animals in the forest, and admiring the fascinating starry sky over the beach.
