ALICE D mixes associative-biographical lyrics and energetic techno movements to create a dynamic monologue piece about loneliness, self-discovery and addiction.
ALICE D. sinks deeper and deeper into the womb of the dark night. She wanders through the techno club as if through wonderland. Here, in the midst of intoxication and excess, a world of individual, intimate freedom opens up to her: a melting pot in which those escaping reality and those seeking freedom move side by side to monotonous rhythms on extreme frequencies. But what happens when the desire to dance becomes an unquenchable thirst? When we "carry our loneliness heavier than usual in the midst of the festivities"? And the longing for connection and encounters in an increasingly divided society tips over into dependency and drug use?
Based on René Daumal's "The Great Booze-up" and Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland", Jenny Helene Wübbe mixes associative biographical poetry, classical texts and energetic techno movements to create a dynamic monologue piece about loneliness, self-empowerment and addiction.
ALICE D dances between the poles, on the fine line between self-discovery and destructiveness - accompanied by electronic dance music, she carries the questions of solidarity and cohesion in our society directly from Berlin's club culture into the cities and communities of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
