Carpenter Andersen loves to dress up as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. But because he is so clumsy and the party always ends in chaos, Mrs. Andersen forbids him to dress up this year. But she hasn't reckoned with the real Santa Claus ...
Even though his eldest children no longer believe in Santa Claus and dressing up is forbidden this year, carpenter Andersen secretly slips into the red suit after the festive meal. As he swings onto the gift sleigh, the inevitable happens: The carpenter slips and tumbles down a slope with his sleigh. When he regains consciousness in the middle of the forest, Andersen is in for a surprise: standing in front of him is the real Santa Claus with a big beard and red pointed cap! As if that wasn't enough, he also proposes a family swap. Andersen is to visit Santa's children because the little elves have never seen a real carpenter before. In return, Santa Claus will visit the Andersen family. The carpenter agrees and experiences a Christmas like no other.
