For the Advent concert of the "vocal collegium rostock"
November 30, 2025 at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm in the University Church in Rostock
with the brass quintet "BlechMission" under the overall direction of Daniel Arnold.
Selected works of Christmas choral literature and classical music will be performed in a festive atmosphere - contemplative, touching and festive at the same time.
The program spans a musical arc from traditional Christmas carols to ornate vocal music. You can hear, among other things: "Übers Gebirg Maria geht" - a fine choral arrangement by composer Johannes Eccard, "A new Noel" - based on the classic English Christmas carol "The first Noel", "Ave Maria" by Giulio Caccini - a heartfelt, virtuoso work full of depth and grace.
In the often hectic Advent season, let yourself be touched by music that opens your heart and soul. At selected points, the audience is cordially invited to sing along to Christmas evergreens. The concert is a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and experience the magic of this special time of year.
The "vocal collegium rostock" was founded in 1955. Its repertoire ranges from traditional songs to sacred choral music and musicals. The "vocal collegium rostock" has performed in St. Petersburg, Strasbourg, Riga, Vienna, Brussels, Barcelona and Gdansk. In June 2022, the "vocal collegium rostock" fulfilled its dream of bringing "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff to the stage in Rostock and Wismar. In June of this year, the choir celebrated its 70th anniversary with a large festive concert in the Nikolaikirche Rostock.
