"The earth is the Lord's" - Cantata for solo tenor, choir, orchestra and band by Christian Kollmar and André Engelbrecht Performers: Florian Neubauer - Tenor Ecumenical choir project Bad Doberan/Rostock Project orchestra cond.: A. Hain
What are we waiting for? What determines our lives?
The Advent cantata "Die Erde ist des Herrn" by Christian Kollmar and André Engelbrecht, which was composed three years ago for the Dresden University of Church Music, deals with these and similar questions from a Christian perspective.
The work is a prime example of the successful fusion of classical music traditions with elements of jazz/rock/pop. Baroque and rock passages merge seamlessly and dance-like klezmer sounds contrast with calm, meditative melodies.
