*: Carl von Mettenheimer - He worked as the personal physician to the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg in the 19th century and is considered a pioneer of children's spa treatments on the Baltic Sea. In Graal-Müritz in particular, he championed the region's climatic benefits and founded the Friedrich-Franz-Hospiz there in 1884, which is considered the first children's sanatorium on the Baltic Sea.
