It was May 1986 when four young students from the Berlin Academy of Music set off for the idyllic town of Evian on Lake Geneva. They only held their passports in their hands on the day of departure. This trip changed everything: the first prize at what was then the most important string quartet competition catapulted the young Vogler Quartet into an international career that continues to this day - with the same line-up for 40 years now, which is not to be taken for granted. Today, the four musicians themselves often sit on competition juries and work intensively as professors for young musicians.
