Gabriel Celino Ferrer from the Philippines will be a guest at the 6th “Tea Time” event at the International House, Ziegenmarkt 4. He grew up in the northern part of Luzon, the main island of the Philippines. He moved to Schwerin with his wife four years ago and now works here as a geriatric caregiver.
After a Sunday walk, spending an hour over coffee or tea listening to a conversation with someone whose roots lie outside Europe—and perhaps asking questions of your own—that’s the idea behind “Tea Time.” The action group Eine Welt e.V. | Weltladen Schwerin is now inviting you to the 6th “Tea Hour,” which is free of charge and requires no registration. Once again this year, the discussion will take place as part of the statewide event series “weltwechsel.”
This time, Gabriel Celino Ferrer from the Philippines will be the guest at the International House, Ziegenmarkt 4. He grew up in the north of Luzon, the main island of the Philippines. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, he worked there for many years in various medical fields. Four years ago, he moved to Schwerin with his wife and now works here as a geriatric nurse.
During “Tea Time,” people with international backgrounds share their stories and talk about their countries of origin. How do these countries differ from Germany? What unites them, and what connects them? How do they view the reality of life in their former homeland? These are deliberately subjective perspectives that allow us to look beyond our own horizons. The organizers look forward to hearing your questions.
