What does it mean to have a voice? Who is heard? Who is not heard? And why? What does it mean to make your voice heard?
What does it mean to have a voice - and to be heard?
STIMMEN is an extraordinary concert evening between jazz, text, electronics and social reflection. Based on real stories and poems, music and voices tell of hope, resistance, vulnerability and courage - and make audible what often gets lost in the noise of the present.
Evgeny Ring (alto saxophone & composition), Philip Frischkorn (piano & composition), Marc Muellbauer (double bass), Eva Klesse (drums & composition) as well as Zuza Jasinska and Michael Schiefel (voice) join forces on stage. Philipp Rumsch expands the sound space with sound design and electronics. Texts by Carolin Emcke, Daria Serenko, Yulia Tsvetkova, Sondos Shabayek and Fred Hersch, among others, intertwine to form a polyphonic choir of the present.
