Music by Benjamin Britten and Edgar Meyer as well as "Musical Offering" BWV 1079
At the center of the evening is the mysterious and artfully interwoven "Musical Offering" BWV 1079 - a masterpiece of contrapuntal sophistication and spiritual depth. The program is complemented by works by Benjamin Britten and Edgar Meyer, which place Bach's musical legacy in an exciting dialogue with later sound worlds, performed by Simone Mentzen (flute), Martina Trumpp (violin), Andreas Voss (cello) and Ise Bosch (double bass) - an evening of chamber music full of subtlety, depth and a lively encounter with Bach.
