On October 4, 2025, Redefin State Stud once again invites you to the drag hunt ride - already for the fourth time and long a permanent fixture in the stud's calendar of events. You can look forward to a stylish riding experience in the midst of the autumnal landscape around Redefin. Location: Redefin State Stud and surrounding area Date: Saturday, 04.10.2025 A special highlight this year: The Frankenmeute will be visiting Redefin for the first time. With their impressive dog work and traditional presentation, they give the event its very own character. More about the pack: www.frankenmeute.eu Accompanied by a group of par force horn players, the hunting field leads in style across meadows and fields - without live prey, of course. Spectators also get their money's worth: as in previous years, the cavalcade is accompanied by Kremsers and carriages - a wonderful opportunity to experience the atmosphere up close. Redefin drag hunt ride 2026 - with pack of hounds
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Redefin State Stud invites you to the traditional Redefin drag hunt ride with a pack of hounds.
The drag hunt ride is a traditional equestrian event in which riders follow a pack of foxhounds that follow an artificially laid scent trail - the so-called "scent" - through the countryside. No live game is hunted, but the art and technique of drag hunting is celebrated in a safe, sporting manner.
From 10:00 to 16:00, the route leads through the autumnal landscape around Redefin to the Lübtheener Heide. It offers varied terrain and an impressive interplay of horsemanship, pack work and nature experience. The event is aimed at experienced hunt riders as well as participants who are confident in the terrain.
The ride is accompanied by carriages and Kremsers so that guests who are not on horseback can also follow the hunting action at close quarters. This creates a special experience for the entire hunting party, combining tradition, community and closeness to nature.
The event is organized by the Förderkreis Landgestüt Redefin e.V. in cooperation with the Redefin State Stud team.
