As part of an interactive seminar, filmmaker Laura Laabs will present her pilot series “Free Beer, Free Opinion”—a documentary project about freedom of expression, political debate, and the rise of far-right structures. Together with students, the series will serve as a starting point for discussions on democratic participation, social responsibility, and how to engage with diverse political perspectives.

Poetic and surprisingly colorful, this film depicts Neubrandenburg in the 1990s and evokes memories of old posters, forgotten corners, and an atmosphere long since gone. Filmed on a day in September 1995 in Neubrandenburg, 130 km north of Berlin.
