In 2011, we began to fill our local cathedral, St. Mary's Church in Rostock, with wonderful music: The Anglican "Choral Evensong". Every day in English cathedrals you can experience these evening prayers with outstanding choirs - originally with boys and men's voices only, later also with girls and women, and today often sung by mixed choirs.
Our Rostock series began with a "treble line" of boys and girls, supplemented by a mixed chamber choir, which later took over the main part - and usually with a sonorous organ accompaniment.
In 2025, we celebrated our 30th Evensong, and like some other larger churches in Germany, we continue this practice.
