"Babar, the little elephant"
The North German Philharmonic Orchestra has already proven in the past two years that classical music is not just for the older generation. Under the direction of Svetlomir Zlatkov, 1st Kapellmeister at the Volkstheater Rostock, the orchestra is performing a special family concert - "Babar, the little elephant".
Visitors young and old will be immersed in the story of the French children's author Jean de Brunhoff. With music by Francis Poulenc, children enjoy their first classical concert experience. The little elephant Babar flees to the big city after the death of his mother. After some adventures, he returns to the jungle to marry Celeste and become king of the elephants.
