On March 01, 2026 we invite you again to the Digital Independence Day in the Hacklab. This time, we're holding an open round for everything that concerns you when it comes to digital independence.
Maybe you've already made the switch to Signal. Maybe you already created an account in the Fediverse (Mastodon & Co.) in February. Or maybe you just haven't found the time to drop by yet, but the topic is still on your mind.
That's exactly what our next event is for.
On March 1, 2026, we're inviting you back to the Hacklab for Digital Independence Day. This time, we're holding an open round for everything that concerns you when it comes to digital independence.
Over the last few months, we have noticed that the questions are as individual as the usage habits. One person is still stuck on WhatsApp because "the sports group doesn't want to change". Another would like to try out Linux, but doesn't dare to install it alone. Still others simply want to know how to survive without a Google account on their cell phone.
Therefore: You bring the topic with you.
Come along, bring your devices (smartphone, laptop) and we'll take a look together at where you want to become more independent. Possible topics could be:
- Messenger: Setting up Signal, Threema or Matrix/Element.
- Social media: Getting started on Mastodon or Pixelfed - without any algorithm stress.
- Operating systems: Questions about switching to Linux (or we can install it directly together if you bring a laptop).
- Browsers & Search: How to search the web without every click being tracked.
- Passwords: Why a password manager makes your life safer (and easier!).
