With the 21st Rostock charity run, we would like to support a project close to our hearts in our own region together with the Rostock City Mission. Girls and boys who have already experienced difficult times in their young lives find a new home in the City Mission's children's residential groups.
The Rostock charity run is packing its bags and moving. The paths around the Rostock Swan Pond will be the new running routes for the Rostock Charity Run from January 2026. The start and finish area will be located on the grounds of the Rostock Leisure Center (RFZ). Jahn Osterloh, head of the district center and the RFZ, is enthusiastic about the idea. "This event is a real enrichment for the RFZ and the district. Together we can benefit from each other," says the committed manager. Registration, catering and activity stands will be located in the inner courtyard of the RFZ. Together with the Rostock City Mission, the organizers will turn the charity run into a real running experience with activities for young and old. The basic idea is that every participant can run as many laps around the swan pond as they like. Those who reach the finish line on the grounds of the RFZ can treat themselves to tea, cake or bread on a stick. Although there is traditionally no award ceremony for the charity run, a large digital clock will display the current running time. Everyone can have their personal finish time noted on a finisher certificate. "The fact that the Rostock charity run is breaking new ground in its 21st year shows that the running event is highly regarded in the region," says Roman Klawun. In twenty years, the event has been able to transfer almost 100,000 euros to various projects at home and abroad.
