Silent Film Screening: *The General*, featuring a concert by the Toolbox Orchestra
1920s-Themed Movie Night in the Pasewalk Museum Garden
Experience a special summer evening with the classic film “The General” by Buster Keaton.
The film is considered one of the most significant silent comedy films in cinematic history.
A concert by the Toolbox Orchestra will take place beforehand.
The Toolbox Orchestra is a shining star even in Berlin’s vibrant music scene: It all began with three ladies, a singing saw, a wash tub bass, and a banjo. Rounded out by guitar, trumpet, and clarinet, the Toolbox Orchestra is now Germany’s only all-female hot jazz band. Their sound is warm and earthy, much like their musical home—the music of the 1920s and ’30s from New Orleans. They made their debut with international trad-jazz star Meschiya Lake, have performed at swing dance festivals in Germany and beyond, and have composed and performed live film scores on multiple occasions for the Interfilm Berlin short film festival.
Come on by and enjoy a unique summer evening!
