To mark the 142nd anniversary of his birth, we plan to lay a floral arrangement at the Welks’ grave. Afterward, our tour will take us to the cemetery chapel and the graves of noble families.
Ehm Welk was born on August 29, 1884, in Biesenbrow. To mark the 142nd birthday of the writer, education and cultural policy maker, and journalist, we will lay a floral arrangement at his grave.
Afterward, our tour will first take us to the highest point of the forest cemetery, which is situated on a hill. During our visit to the cemetery chapel—consecrated in 1938—cemetery administrator Sven Jantzen will provide information about the building, current issues in cemetery management, and options for modern burials.
This will be followed by a guided tour led by Mr. Peter Becker (city tour guide and local historian) focusing on the burial sites of noble families.

We will meet on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 11 a.m., at the main entrance to the cemetery on Waldstraße in Bad Doberan.
